Since 1994, USC Lambda has awarded scholarships to students who demonstrate academic achievement and a strong commitment to the LGBT community, regardless of gender or sexual identity. We have awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships to more than 100 USC students. These recipients have gone on to executive roles in Fortune 500 companies and LGBT nonprofits. They have spearheaded research in technology and sociology, produced award-winning films and argued cases before the Supreme Court. They are doctors, educators, artists and activists who inspire our LGBT student body to see their sexual and gender identities as strengths, not obstacles.
Application Timeline
August: applications available
End of January: application closes
February-March: applications reviewed by committee
April: applicants notified
May: Scholarship Brunch for new scholars
ALL USC Lambda Scholars are required to:
• complete bio and donor gratitude statement by April 6, 2015
• be featured in USC Lambda Scholarship Video, which films in fall of 2015
• attend Scholarship Brunch and Lavender Celebration on May 3, 2015
• fulfill 20 service hours (10 hours per semester) for the USC Lambda LGBT Alumni Association in the academic year
2015-16 Scholarship Applications are now available.
Deadline to apply is Feburary 1, 2015.
