The Tsinghua University Scholarship (TUS) was established by Tsinghua University, aiming to encourage and support excellent international students to pursue Master’s or doctoral degrees at Tsinghua University. The TUS scholarship covers tuition fees fully or partially and need to be applied every year. Since 2011, the Tsinghua University Scholarship is preferably awarded to the doctoral students.
The International Students Office is authorized by Tsinghua University to be responsible for the acceptance, review and approval of scholarship applications as well as for the annual review of the Scholarship.
International students who are applying for admission to the doctoral programs of Tsinghua University shall complete the Tuition Scholarship Application Form of Tsinghua University (for Future International Students), and submit together with the admission application materials to International Students Office, Tsinghua University.
International students who are studying in doctoral programs of Tsinghua University shall complete the Tuition Scholarship Application/Annual Review Form of Tsinghua University (for Current International Students), and submit together with supplementary materials such as transcripts, certificates of awards, letters of recommendation, and publications to International Students Office in March each year.
Tsinghua University Scholarship needs to be applied every year. International students who have been granted TUS support are requested to go through the annual review and re-application for the next academic year in March each year.
Basic requirements for applicants
（1）Aged below 35 in principle.
（2）Having a doctoral degree issued by one of the top 100 overseas
universities in the world for nearly a year.
（3）Having achieved outstanding research result when studied for a doctoral degree.
（4）Able to guarantee for no less than 20 months of consecutive postdoctoral
research in China.
（5）Those who are from non-English-speaking countries are expected to
have good Chinese or English understanding, speaking, reading, and writing
capability.
