The Department of Mathematics conducts research and provides education at undergraduate to graduate level in mathematics, applied mathematics and mathematical statistics. The number of employees is 100, of which approximately 30 are PhD students.


Work description: The work consists of at least 80 percent of research and no more than 20 percent teaching.


Recruitment Period: The period of employment is 2 years with the desired start date January 1st, 2015.


Qualifications required: To be eligible for a position as postdoctoral researcher the applicant’s Ph.D. degree must have been obtained no more than three years prior to the application date; however, for example periods of sick leave or parental leave are deducted from the three-year period. Ability to teach in Swedish or English is a requirement as well as proficiency in spoken and written English.


Ranking criteria: In ranking eligible candidates, special importance will be given to scientific skills and in particular to skills within the area of partial differential equations. In filling the position the university aims to recruit the person who, in the combined evaluation of competence, skills and documented qualifications, is judged most suitable to carry out and develop the work-in-hand and to contribute to a positive development of the department.
